I do not play on Thursdays as a rule, I have things to do(tm), and boy was I glad I did! Since I returned from my girlfriend's a little bit early I sat down to refit some Incursus and then thought I'd roam a little bit with my super Vexor. I wanted mainly to test out the tank and thought that I would look for a really unfavorable fight and see how well it held.
It worked, at least the part where I die. However, I did not die in vain and it takes a bit of telling. I warped the Vexor to a plex in Hevrice, the medium one, where W0lf Crendraven of The Tuskers was waiting for victims. I know W0lf to be an excellent pilot and he was flying a Dramiel, it was clearly going to be tough.
An Eye Patch and a Peg Leg
After years of flying in null-sec, this EVE pilot is ready for a change. An Eye Patch and a Peg Leg later and I'm now a Pirate flying in low-sec looking for trouble and throwing my positive sec status out the window. Yarr!

Pirate's Log, Flight 2, 3 and 4... crickey!
Wednesday's are my only play night during the week, the rest is taken up by work, poker, taking care of my lovely girlfriend and exercising properly. I was looking forward to an evening of getting into good fights, winning them, finding some helpless afk plexers and murdering them while having a great time.
That didn't go very well.

PSA - Transitioning null to low
Lots of people write guides on things of this nature, so I won't go into the details of how to do each; such as making a tactical and setting up your overview. I will assume that you already know all this or have read all the different guides out there. Ripard Teg, for example, has some excellent ones in his blog, go there and become enlightened in case you have doubts.
What I intend to do with this post is speak from the perspective of an ex-nullsec pilot who's moved to lowsec and begun a dangerous life of crime. Which habits and lessons learned in null work? Which apply and which don't? That's what I'm here to document; life in low is different and exciting and requires some paradigm shifts.

Keep Calm and Stay Frosty
This will probably only be read by the two or three search bots that visit my blog, but if by any chance someone made of flesh and blood comes across it know this: Stay Frosty is awesome, if you want to be a pirate then you should join. Now.
Why you ask? Well here are some reasons:
