Pirate's Log, Flight 1

Defenseless fool ahoy!
After hauling five Incursi and a Vexor into Hevrice I set about assembling one and going out there looking for victims. As a newly minted member of Stay Frosty I was eager to prove myself and get a notch on the kill-boards, which were recently created by Rixx. I chose the Incursus, fit it for speed and 1v1 combat, a rather standard configuration but one that has had good results in the past... during in house tournaments. Time to prove my mettle!

I have a thing for green and covered with blasters and the Incursus has always been my favorite frigate. I have no clue if it's the best but I enjoy flying it, I do it with decent proficiency and it's dirt cheap. For 10 million ISK I get a very well fit ship that can take down anything its own size if well flown. This first time out as a pirate I encountered mixed results however, and the I.Assimov -all my frigates get named after dead SF authors- had its fate written in stone.

Muetralle, Costolle and Mellamiel all ended up being useless systems. Rixx Javix, the boss, was hunting the first system and predictably had scared off the prey. The other two systems had no one plexing; since my chosen targets of the day were FW pilots I chose not to check belts. Ouelleta turned out to be different however as there was what I can only describe as an idiot AFK at a small plex.

There's really very little to tell here. I warped in, shot his Executioner to smitherines and held his pod. Repeated attempts at convoing him were fruitless and I gave him a ride home. The ship was crap, fit wit crap modules and the pod itself was empty. Not the best kill to start off but it earned me my first criminal tag and dropped me from about 3.5 to 1.9 security status. Can't wait to be negative!

My first coldblooded kill merited a souvenier so I picked up Granio's fozen corpse along with whatever junk dropped from his frigate. With a smile on my face I coomunicatd the kill, making the addendum of him being AFK and was rewarded with my boss telling me AFK counts and that I'm now officially a pirate. YARR!

My happiness was short lived however. The system next door contained a large gang roamign about in T1 crusers and battlecruisers. I scanned them and could tell they were either at my exit gate, a medium plex or at the small plex. I figured they would be at the gate, waiting to go out, so I warped to the medium to scan inside it and get a different angle on the gate. This turned out to be a mistake, they were camping the medium plex acceleration gate and in short order I.Asimov was space debris.

Oh well. Such is the life of Pirates. I don't mourn the loss of the Incursus, that's what they are for; but I really wanted Granio's Frozen Corpse adorning my hangar and now he's in someone's cargo-bay! At least I got two kill mails for one, even if the ISK is 10:1 against.
