Pirate Log: Flights 6 and 7 - Success(?)

I do not play on Thursdays as a rule, I have things to do(tm), and boy was I glad I did! Since I returned from my girlfriend's a little bit early I sat down to refit some Incursus and then thought I'd roam a little bit with my super Vexor. I wanted mainly to test out the tank and thought that I would look for a really unfavorable fight and see how well it held. 

It worked, at least the part where I die. However, I did not die in vain and it takes a bit of telling. I warped the Vexor to a plex in Hevrice, the medium one, where W0lf Crendraven of The Tuskers was waiting for victims. I know W0lf to be an excellent pilot and he was flying a Dramiel, it was clearly going to be tough.




I was right and I never got the chance of landing the dual webs on him, he dictated range very well -something I thought he would do since I knew him to be good- so I got a chance to test the tank. It worked well but it was taking W0lf too long to kill me and I only had so much time to waste so I deployed my ECM drones to break lock and warp off. Please understand -particularly you W0lf in the super-unlikely case that you read this- I did this because a) I was short on time and b) I realized it was a poor test of the tank and I didn't want to waste the ship like this. Had he been flying a cruiser I would not have deployed the ECM drone, that would have been a more entertaining fight. I did not feel like I could waste 20 minutes sitting still and be killed by a Dramiel.

Boy was W0lf Mad! I ignored his ranting and did not grace it with an explanation. I should have, maybe, but I moved on to other things...

Like the Gnosis auto-piloting into the station. "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" as the famous Conkordoken video goes! This was a perfect moment, I was coming out of the station after repairing, the station guns would shoot me and if I could kill the Gnosis before the guns killed me then the tank would have been proven and I would get a juicy kill.

The Gnosis died (http://frosty.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=17928086) after it taking me too long to kill it. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, it was shit fit and it still took me a while to do him in. The Vexor's tank however held beautifully but because it took me ages to finish it off I had company in the form of two Tuskers, one was Etuura and the other W0lf who came back in a Tornado. He probably expected my tough tank and instead found me in structure thanks to the local law enforcement.

I thought I was aligned to my insta-warp, but I botched that up so I did not instantly warp off the moment the Gnosis died. I knew they would wait, station guns are no laughing matter and I would have gotten away otherwise. No harm done, I owed W0lf one and their behavior was very piraty.

I decided to call it a night and was about to log off when Chixnobears, fellow Frosty, said he had a Megathron tackled at a neighboring system belt. A Megathron! Too much temptation, several of us started moving towards the victim, I decided to take a ship I'm Intimately familiar with and does lots of damage: Nemesis.

Sure enough I land on the belt at distance (I was cloaked) and there was a Mega, all webbed and scrammed. Chixnobears had done a lot of damage to it (he would end up top dealer) but it was still along way from dying. I made a dramatic de-cloak and started unloading the torpedoes. In no time we had dead Mega and dead Pod:

It only dawned on us later that we're Pirates, not blood thirsty psychopaths out for murder and should have ransomed the ship. Oh well, next time I guess! This kill did wonders to my board as I am now 7 kills/loses for the month and my efficiency is back up over 80% where I like it.

I then went to bed at 1:30am, after more than two hours of my intended 20-30 minute play session! Yikes!
