VlV is a PVP/Industrial corporation, its strengths are life in null-sec, small gang pvp and most of all Black Ops hot-dropping of unsuspecting fools deep in enemy territory to make their lives miserable and convince them to vacate the premises. I always thought we were good at it but that opinion belongs to others; we certainly enjoyed our lifestyle and did the best we could. However after loosing our homes in 0.0 the corporation came back to high-sec to cool its heels. So it cools, and cools, and cools and as I write this it's probably under a think layer of ice. I need action, pew-pew as we call it. Good fights! Ships need to explode, somebody else's if possible, mine if it cannot be helped.
So I looked at my options and found out a I had but a few:
- Wait for VlV to recover. Given my loyalty to the corp and the years of service this seemed a reasonable choice. However if and when VlV recovers it will be to return to null-sec and I've done enough of that already. I want to try something new.
- Live in high-sec, be a bear. Out of the question. I may have bearish tendencies and days when I'm in an ursine mood but I am not a carebear. High-sec is boring anyways.
- Go down the rabbit-er-Wormhole: No. Wormholes give me the creeps.
- Do faction warfare. I've tried this with an alt and it's a good way to earn money through plexing; if you are ready to haul ass anytime someone comes along. My main character could work this, doing what the alt does already so well. It would be easy, relaxing and also a waste of a well-rounded trained character.
- Be a Pirate. Might not be as hard as it once seemed. I have two alts that make money, one an industrial and another the FW pilot. Also, with the upcoming Tags-4-Sec system recovering security status might not be the suicide recepie it is now.
Somewhere in low-sec a pirate CEO is being a dick (allegedly) and kicks out a certain well known blogger by the name of Rixx Javix for not following orders to the letter. Aware that pirates never followed orders and know nothing of letters, Rixx throws a tantrum, makes some threats and then decides to put his money where his mouth is. He makes a new pirate corporation with only two rules: be an honorable pirate, don't suck too badly. So is Stay Frosty born.
Since I always wanted to be a pirate, I'm good at being honorable and despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I do suck it was too much temptation to resist! I joined their in-game chat channel and signed up!
So here I am, at the beginning of my pirate career. I've sent my current CEO an eve-mail informing him of my intent to resign. Upon his confirmation I will send a corp-wide goodbye letter and hit that magic button. It will be hard, I love those people and we've been through a lot together. I need to do this however; so I hope you, if anyone is reading this, are willing to follow me on this journey as I begin my life of Yarr!
The blog is just started, it looks like crap, but stay tuned as I learn how to configure it, modify it, customize it and make it look Eve-like and piraty.
